The Gambia Supreme Islamic Council (GSIC) is the apex Islamic authority in The Gambia. It is an organization that aims to foster a healthy and vibrant Muslim community by providing religious, educational, and cultural resources and advocating for the rights of its members. It also promotes tolerance and understanding between different religious groups in The Gambia and works towards creating a better future for all Gambians. The ultimate goal of the GSIC is to promote peace, tolerance, and the spread of human and moral values.

Our Mission
The Council shall do the following to achieve its vision:
- Promote decentralisation in Islamic work
- Dialogue and continuous consultation between imams, preachers and institutions working in the field of Islamic work.
- Building the capacity of Islamic workers.
- Reconciliation and peace building.
- Promote tolerance and peaceful coexistence in The Gambia.
- Strengthening basic Islamic teaching by supporting institutions operating in the field.
- Spreading human and moral values in society.
- Collaborate with the government in achieving national goals.
