GSIC Engages with Committee Experts to Enhance Activities and Collaboration

The Gambia Supreme Islamic Council (GSIC) took a proactive step towards enhancing its activities and fostering collaboration by convening a meeting with members of various committees established by the Executive. This gathering included representatives from committees such as Media & Communications, Islamic Heritage & Culture, Higher Education, Fatwa & Crescent Moon Sighting, and Mosques (Masajid), among others.

Held at the Doha Hall within the GSIC premises, the meeting aimed to provide a platform for experts from diverse fields to offer their insights, expertise, and guidance on matters related to the council’s initiatives. The event, which corresponded to the 15th of Ramadhan 1443H on the Islamic calendar, underscored the council’s commitment to continuous improvement and community engagement.

Representatives from each committee shared updates on their respective areas of focus and provided recommendations for enhancing the council’s activities and impact. The meeting encouraged open discussions and the exchange of ideas that would contribute to the development of effective strategies and programs.

Sheikh Essa Foday Darbo, the President of the GSIC, expressed his appreciation for the valuable contributions made by the committee members. He highlighted the importance of collaboration and the council’s dedication to addressing the evolving needs of the Islamic community.

The event emphasized the council’s belief in the strength of collective wisdom and diverse perspectives in shaping the direction of its initiatives.
